Household Tasks

NDIS Household Tasks Assistance Across Perth and Western Australia

Household Tasks

A clean, safe, and well-maintained home makes everything else possible. At True Path Care, we provide NDIS household tasks assistance for participants across Perth and Western Australia — taking care of the everyday domestic tasks that disability makes difficult so you can focus on living well.

Our support workers are trained, reliable, and respectful of your home, your routines, and your preferences.

What Is NDIS Household Tasks Assistance?

Household task assistance is funded under Core Supports. That is assistance with daily life in your NDIS plan. It covers practical domestic support for participants whose disability creates a genuine barrier to maintaining a safe and functional home environment.

This support is separate from personal care. Personal care covers bathing, dressing, and grooming. Household tasks focus on the upkeep of your home like cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and general domestic maintenance. If your disability affects both areas, funding can cover a combination of the two within your Core Supports budget.

Household Tasks We Cover

General House Cleaning

We handle the everyday cleaning that keeps your home hygienic and safe — vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, emptying bins, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens thoroughly and consistently.

Laundry and Linen

We assist with washing, drying, folding, ironing, and putting clothes away. Changing bed linen regularly is a priority — supporting hygiene, skin health, and comfort, particularly for participants with limited mobility.

Meal Preparation

We help with meal planning, food preparation, cooking, and safe food storage — working around dietary requirements, cultural preferences, and personal tastes. Where appropriate, we work alongside you in the kitchen to build your cooking confidence over time.

Home Organisation

A cluttered or disorganised home creates real safety risks. We help tidy and organise living spaces, pantries, wardrobes, and storage areas — reducing hazards and creating a calmer, more manageable environment.

Outdoor and Garden Maintenance

Basic yard maintenance, including as mowing the lawn, clearing paths, and removing outdoor hazards, can be covered if it directly improves safety and accessibility at your Perth property.

Cleaning Mobility Equipment

Wheelchairs, walkers, grab rails, and other assistive aids need regular cleaning to remain safe and effective. We include equipment maintenance as part of our household support.

How We Deliver Household Support

At True Path Care, we assign consistent support workers wherever possible. The same familiar face, visiting regularly, builds trust, efficiency, and a genuine understanding of how you like your home managed.

Support is scheduled around your routine — mornings, afternoons, or weekends. We work to your timetable, not ours. Before services begin, we discuss exactly which tasks we will cover, how often, and for how long, so there are no surprises.

Your home is your space. We follow your lead on how things are organised, what products are used, and how involved you want to be.

How Your NDIS Funding Can Be Used

Under NDIS household tasks assistance, your Core Supports funding in Western Australia may cover:

  • General house cleaning and bathroom maintenance
  • Laundry, ironing, and linen changes
  • Meal preparation and kitchen clean-up
  • Home organisation and decluttering
  • Basic yard and outdoor maintenance
  • Cleaning and upkeep of mobility aids and equipment
  • Grocery shopping assistance
  • Skill-building support for managing household tasks independently

Note: NDIS funding covers the cost of support worker time
    — not groceries, cleaning products, appliances, or consumables.

Is This Household Task Support Right for You?

NDIS household task assistance is available to participants in Perth and across Western Australia whose disabilities directly affect their ability to maintain a safe home environment. This includes participants with physical disabilities, cognitive or intellectual disabilities, psychosocial disabilities, and those transitioning to independent living.

To access this support, you need Assistance with Daily Life included in your core supports budget. If it is not currently in your plan, you can request it at your next NDIS plan review. Gather supporting evidence from your GP, occupational therapist, or allied health professional explaining how your disability affects your ability to manage household tasks.

Our Perth team can help you prepare for that conversation and document your support needs clearly.
